Hello Dancers and Parents:
We hope you are having a wonderful
summer. Here are the latest things happening at the Dance Center:
E-mail List
In the past we have had an e-mail sign up list available during
rehearsals. We have a hard time reading the sign ups so this year
we are asking that if you do not currently get e-mails from us,
please send an email to
tammy@domsys.com
asking to be placed on the Dance Center email list.
Dance Masters VIP Membership
Dance Masters offers a junior membership for dancers ages 15 and up.
Our current members include Casey Barnhart, Janelle Bouchard, Angela
Cutlip, Jared Cutlip, Haley Hanan, Brittany Hayes, Crystal Holcomb,
Candace Kintner, Hannah Nighswander and Ashley Paps. The
members enjoy special events, educational opportunities as well as
volunteering at Dance Master major events. This membership
also looks very good on scholarship applications. For further
information talk to one of the members or call Tammy.
Zumba
Session 2 has begun and continues to
run on Tuesday evenings July 8, 15 and 22nd 6:30 to 7:30
p.m. If you sign up this Tuesday, the session fee is $30.00 or the
drop in classes are $15.00. Zumba August Session has been set up
with 1 free class. So the session fee for August is only $30.00.
Thursday, August 7 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14th
from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday August 19, from 8:00 to 9:00 – This
is the FREE class and it will be held at 8:00 after the dance camp
finishes for the day. Then the last class is Thursday, August 28,
2008 after registration from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. All the above
classes are at the Adrian Studio. There will be a Zumba Kids class
held during the dance camp. Call Carrie or Tammy for information on
Zumba!
Summer Classes
Summer classes are continuing with
session 2 which began 7/14/2008. Call Carrie if interested:

Solos
Just a reminder that if you plan to do
a solo for the 2008-2009 dance year, you must contact Carrie soon as
music and choreography is done during the summer. Also private
lessons must start in the summer. 902-6857.
Jump And Swim
We have a jump and swim class
scheduled for July 17, 2008 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Tammy’s
house. We will learn how to do some more dance jumps on the soft
ground, swim and eat pizza and snacks. We might watch some dance
videos if there is time too. However, if the weather is bad, this

Blue Lake Fine Arts Master Class And Free Performance
The Blue Lakes Fine Arts International
Ballet Ensemble is giving a Free Master Class and Performance. The
class is being held on Monday, July 28, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
at the Adrian High School Theater. This is for Intermediate to
Advanced Dancers. From 1:00 to 2:00 will be Ballet and from 2:00 to
3:00 will be Jazz and Hip Hop. If you want to be part of this
class, we understand there are only a few openings left so call

As of right now, we have only one student from our studio signed
up to do the master class. The FREE PERFORMANCE is on Tuesday, July
29, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Adrian High School Theater, 785
Riverside Drive, Adrian, MI. Please note that our own Francesca
Marino is a performer in this group. This group is touring
internationally throughout the summer so this is sure to be a great
performance.
Lenawee Fair Parade
July 20, 2008. Line up begins at
Lenawee Rec Bowling Alley at 11:30 a.m. on the East Side of the
Parking Lot (College Ave). Wear your favorite costume. Parade
starts at 1:00. Call Carrie and let her know if you can do this.
902-6857. We will have Robert’s pick up truck as our vehicle so we
will walk and ride.
Dance Show At Lenawee Fair
We will perform on Kids Day! Friday,
July 25, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The rehearsal will be
held on July 23, 2008 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Call Carrie by July 15
if you can dance this show so we can set up specific rehearsal
times. 902-6857.
Onsted Festival Parade
August 9, 2008. Call Carrie if you
can march in this parade. 902-6857.
Back To School Dance Camp
August 18 through August 21. We have
some exciting classes planned for you. The classes will be taught
by Eleanore Brown, Katie Fairbanks, Tammy Weadock, Carrie Muesling,
Candy Kintner and Anya Noveskey. Attached is the registration form
and the schedule for camp. We even have a Kids Zumba class!!!!
Bring a friend. Be sure to pack a snack each day and bring lots of
water to drink!!!! This is really going to be a fun camp!!!!
Please register no later than August 11 (You can send in form or
give Eleanore Brown a call 467-2425) and payment is not due until
the first day of camp.
Dance Company Auditions
We have had a very good turn out so
far for our dance company auditions including some adults. So any
of you parents want to do dance competition please consider joining
the team. There is still time to audition so contact Carrie if
interested. 902-6857.
Fall Registration Dates
Just a reminder that our official
registration dates are Wednesday August 27, 2008 from 3:30 to 7:30
at the Onsted Studio and Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 3:30 to 7:30
at the Adrian Studio. Adult Zumba class will also be held at the
end of registration in Adrian from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Drop in fee is
$15.00. Remember Dancers Boutique will be there for dance shoes and
dance wear sales. You can also stop in during any Zumba or Summer
dance class to register too. Or you can print it off from our
website and mail it in.
Fall Announcement
The Dance Center is pleased to
announce that Anya Noveskey will be rejoining our teaching team.
Anya is taking over Katie Fairbanks’ Wednesday Schedule at the
Adrian Studio. Anya and Carrie have teamed together to team teach a
few of those classes. As many of you know, Anya has danced
professionally with Grand Rapids Ballet Company and is taking her
Dance Master Teaching Exams this summer. We are very excited to
have Anya back on our team!!!!!
Fall Golf Outing
We are contemplating having a golf
outing as a fundraiser for the WHOLE STUDIO this year. The funds
can be used toward dance education. We need at least 10 kids
interested in doing this in order to make it happen. Last year’s
golf outing was pretty successful and I am told that each year you
do it, it gets more and more successful. We will need parents to
be involved in this fundraiser as well. Basically the kids go in
groups with a parent to area businesses and ask for prize donations
and sell signs for each golf hole. Kids also help out at the actual
outing. Parent jobs include, accompanying the kids to the
businesses, getting your friends to golf, helping with thank you
cards and helping at the actual outing. The funds are divided per
kid by the hours each kid puts into the event. This year we also
plan to credit each kid with their parent’s work hours. If you are
interested in participating in this fundraiser, please email or call
Tammy no later than July 31st.

New Updated Fall Schedules
With Anya joining our team this fall
to teach we have now updated the fall schedules and they are
attached for your review.
Fall Artilicious Show
September 19th and 20th
on the street in front of the Croswell in downtown Adrian. We are
scheduled to dance on Saturday from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. Please mark
your schedules so you can be part of this fun show!
Fall Irish Hills Festival
We have not been asked to dance at
this yet, but just in case we are, please mark September 20th
in your schedule for this event. It shouldn’t conflict with the
Artilicious show since we usually dance early in the morning for the
Irish Hills Festival. |
