Tammy Weadock
began studying dance at the age of 3 on East Side of Detroit
and opened her first Dance Studio in her parent’s basement at the
age of 13. She participated in one of the first Dance Competitions
to come to Michigan at the age of 16. Under the direction of
Charles Hughes, (New York Choreographer and Instructor) Tammy spent
her late teens and early 20’s going back and forth to New York to
study and audition under the stage name of Tammy Dee. She performed
professionally in variety shows that had become popular in the
80’s. After the birth of her children, Tammy continued to teach
dance with the Pat Sherrill Dance Studio in Warren, Michigan. Upon
moving to Lenawee County in the late 90’s Tammy began teaching dance
at the Dancer Center. She became certified through Dance Masters of
Michigan in 2003 and then completed the 4 year Dance Masters of
America program receiving her diploma in 2006. She is an active
member of Dance Masters of Michigan and currently co-runs their
junior membership program, VIP. Tammy specializes in teaching Tap
and Irish but is also certified to teach Ballet and Jazz. Zumba® and
Zumba® Gold are her latest certifications.
