Yelena Peck
Yelena
Peck, International Character Dance Teacher, was born and educated
in Russia. In 1986 she received her professional dance training and
earned her diploma from the Professional School of Dance of the
Russian Federation. Three years later, she received her
choreography and dance teacher training, obtaining her diploma from
the College of Dance and Music of the Russian Federation. Yelena
performed as a soloist with the Professional Dancing Collective of
the Character Dance. From 1990 - 1995 she was on staff at the
Children's Center of Culture in Novouralsk, where she taught
character, lyrical, folk, pop dance, dance history and the history
of costumes. She continued to teach dance in other locations.
Yelena moved to the United States in 2003, became an American
Citizen and is currently teaching at the Dance Center of Adrian,
Michigan. In 2009 Yelena taught at the Cecchetti International
Summer School at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Besides
teaching and choreographing International Character Dance, Yelena
designs and creates folk costumes of different countries for student
performances.
