Beth Beard CTCI
Miss Beth has been dancing ballet since she was 4 1/2 years old. She is a Certified Health Coach, a certified Tai chi instructor, is certified to teach Cecchetti Ballet Grade 1, and has her BA from the University of Michigan School of Education. She has studied dance at Sylvia School of Dance, Pamela Rutledge's Studio, and the Dance Center, as well as attended workshops and classes at the University of Michigan, Jackson School of the Arts, and Broadway Dance Center, NYC.
"I love teaching dance, fitness, and Tai chi because I understand how important movement is to our overall health and well-being especially as we get older. It is so helpful to find an exercise that you enjoy to do and look forward to practicing it, because if you don't love it, you won't stick with it. Who wants to workout and dread it? I also find taking classes is important for the social benefits gained, especially interaction with others, motivation, and accountability."
Her teaching objectives include:
-
Being able to teach classical Cecchetti ballet and other forms of dance movement to children and adults, and encourage them to participate in an art form which has many life-long health benefits.
-
To learn more about and work with children and adults who have health issues which affect their physical movement abilities, and balance, especially those with arthritis and Parkinson’s disease.
-
Continuing Education Study courses include:
1. Full Body Flexibility Course through Exercise Etc. Inc.
2. Fall prevention protocol assessment and exercise training through Mobility Matters
3. Ongoing educational workshops and training through FAI including:
"Fall Prevention"
"Speed Training for Seniors"
"The Power of Tai chi for You and Your Clients"
